Police said charges are pending against a 14-year-old boy after arson destroyed a 150-foot pole barn on the Gerald Haggerty farm here Sunday, causing damages estimated at more than $100,000.
Fire investigators Steve Tarbell and Ed Till questioned the youth after the fire and are continuing an investigation.
Arcade Fire Chief Greg Landis said the 1:45 p.m. blaze at the 6255 Curriers Road farm was under control in about 20 minutes. A mutual aid alert drew fire companies from more than half a dozen surrounding communities to the scene.
The barn contained a tractor, lawn and farm equipment, 60 large bales of hay and more than 400 small bales of hay.
