Helen J. Gaeckle, 93, of Largo, Fla., a former Buffalo area resident, died Saturday (Sept. 20, 1997) in her home after a long illness.
Born Helen Hauth in Concord, she attended Hamburg High School. She was married to Charles Gaeckle in 1921. He died in 1939.
She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for a number of companies, including Lincoln Storage & Carting, Trico, General Electric, Dankner Mercury and Miles Gardner children's stores.
She moved from Buffalo to the Town of Tonawanda in 1955 and had been a resident of Largo since 1978.
An active churchwoman, she was a former member of the Symphony Baptist Church and Randall Memorial Baptist Church in Williamsville. She was an officer in the former Niagara Sunday School Association and the City Mission Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Lila of Largo, and a sister, Adeline Hansen of Lake View.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Serenity Gardens Chapel, Largo.
