BRAGMAN PICKS ASSEMBLY OVER RUN FOR GOVERNOR

Saying he sees his future in the State Assembly, the chamber's majority leader, Michael Bragman, D-Syracuse, said Monday he has no plans to run for governor.

In March, he created a bit of a stir in political circles when he said he was interested in the possibility of running for governor.

But on Monday, the leader of the Assembly's moderate upstate wing said he wanted to stay in that chamber and maybe one day move up to Assembly speaker.

Just last week, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, said he was exploring a possible run for governor next year.
