WOMAN REFUSES DNA TEST IN COSBY CASE

Cooperating with entertainer Bill Cosby in a paternity test now would do nothing to help Autumn Jackson when she comes up for sentencing, her mother's lawyer said Wednesday.

Ms. Jackson, who claims to be Cosby's daughter, faces up to 12 years in prison on her conviction for trying to extort $40 million from him.

His lawyer, Jack Schmitt, who announced Monday that Cosby had given a blood sample for a DNA paternity test, said Wednesday he still was waiting to hear from Ms. Jackson's lawyer, Robert Baum.

Wanda Akin, who represents Ms. Jackson's mother, Shawn Upshaw, said she and Baum remain in agreement on not submitting to testing before Ms. Jackson's sentencing Oct. 22.
