A Memorial Mass for Kenneth J. Barth, a former deacon in the Buffalo Catholic Diocese, will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main St.
His son, the Rev. Michael K. Barth of Cleveland, will be among the priests concelebrating the Mass.
He died July 6, 1997, at his retirement home in Murrell's Inlet, S.C.
A former resident of Eggertsville, he retired in 1981 as labor relations manager for the former Worthington Compressors.
From his ordination as deacon in 1978 until his retirement in 1992, he served at the Brothers of Mercy Home in Clarence, Our Lady of Peace Church in Clarence and St. Joseph University Church.
Active as a pro-life advocate, he was associate director of the Diocesan Family Life Department in the early 1980s and, with his wife, Miriam, was co-director of the Diocesan Pro-Life Activities Office from 1981 to 1992.
At the time of his death, he was deacon of St. Michael's Church in Garden City, S.C.
