Investigators were attempting to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a house on Portage Road Wednesday morning .
The home, which was unoccupied, was being remodeled. Westfield firefighters were called to the house about 4:30 a.m. and discovered flames shooting from the windows. Mayville, Ripley, Portland, and Fredonia helped extinguish the fire.
