A convicted sex offender was charged Wednesday with fondling two girls in the Schiller Park Pool, police said.
William A. Warren, 23, of 131 Ruhland Ave. was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Warren also was charged with violating the state's Sex Offender Registration Act, which requires convicted sex offenders to disclose their addresses to the state Department of Criminal Justice Services or local police. Failure to do so is considered a misdemeanor.
Police said the mothers of the 9- and 10-year-old victims told them Warren touched the girls' genital and chest areas at 3:30 p.m.
Previously, Warren was accused of raping a 3-year-old girl while baby-sitting the victim in her mother's Buffalo apartment in 1996. The disposition of that case was not immediately available.
