Police have shifted their investigation of the July 18 shooting death of Kenneth L. Tatar to his brother.
Police, armed with search warrants, went to Blasdell to search the home and vehicle of Andrew Tatar Jr. They also searched the World of Wheels Skateland, along Route 219 south of Springville, which the victim operated jointly with his parents and brother.
Sources close to the case say the brother has hired attorney Joel L. Daniels of Buffalo. Daniels was unavailable to comment.
Investigators, meanwhile, had little to say about the development.
"At this time, there are no suspects," Cattaraugus County Sheriff Ernest J. Dustman said. Dustman would not say what they were seeking but confirmed only that some items were removed and are being tested in the State Police forensic laboratory in Albany.
Police also were following other leads.
Dustman decline to discuss a motive in the shooting death or identify what weapon was used. Investigators removed several shotguns from the family home.
