The Akron Central School Board Wednesday evening was presented a plan recommended by the Board of Cooperative Educational Services to upgrade computers.
A representative of the Erie I BOCES told the School Board that the district's current software program will not process information past 1999.
A presentation on two choices offered included advantages and disadvantages of each.
In other business, the board appointed Stanley Victor as chairman and chief election inspector, and Arlene Richardson and Ray Perkins tellers for the special district vote Tuesday on two propositions that would fund athletics and extra-curricular activities for the 1997-98 school year.
The district has been operating on a contingency budget of $15,623,811 since the original proposed spending plan of $15.9 million was rejected by voters May 20.
In personnel matters, board members approved several probationary appointments effective Sept. 2 including Laura Lombardo and Edwin Davanport, English; Daniel Verdi, reading assistant teacher at a salary of $18,547; and Bryan Fabiano, summer school staff. He will be paid $23.87 an hour for 60 hours of teaching and preparation time.
