MARIAN SHICKLER, MOTEL OWNER

Marian Shickler, 77, the owner of the Villa Niagara Motel on Sheridan Drive in the Town of Tonawanda for 40 years, died Sunday (July 27, 1997) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Buffalo, the former Marian Koch attended the former New Cathedral School on Delaware Avenue and West Utica Street and was a 1938 graduate of Nardin Academy. She also attended the Chown School of Business, which was located on Main Street, between Edward Street and Tupper Avenue.

She was a member and past president of the Delaware-Sheridan Businessmen's Association.

Mrs. Shickler was the widow of Robert Shickler.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Kean of Kenmore, and a brother, Arthur Koch of Williamsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Timothy's Catholic Church on East Park Drive in the Town of Tonawanda following prayers at 12:15 at Lester H. Wedekindt Funeral Home, 3290 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
