Three days of activities are planned this weekend for the fourth annual Welcome to Lovejoy's Iron Island Festival on East Lovejoy Street between Longnecker and North Ogden streets.
The festival will feature carnival rides, games, a beer tent and legal games of chance.
Festivities will open Friday at 5 p.m. with a program featuring music from the Buffalo Ragtimers, the Rince Na Tiarna Irish dance troupe and the Queen City Strutters.
Saturday's schedule runs from noon to 11 p.m. and features live music from Joyryde and a 10 p.m. fireworks display.
Sunday's activities also begin at noon and include clowns, magicians and face-painting and performances by the Tonawanda Clog Hoppers and Tommy Z and the Hurricanes. The festival is sponsored by the Iron Island Preservation Society of Lovejoy.
The Iron Island neighborhood is surrounded by railroads and covers an area bounded by Broadway, North Ogden Street, William Street and Central Avenue.
