The AIDS Alliance of Niagara County will conduct a street outreach program to distribute information and prevention materials from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday in several locations in the city.
Philip R. Santangelo, executive director of the alliance and a person living with AIDS, said a dozen people will dispense information packets about methods of reducing the transmission of AIDS, condoms and bleaching kits for sterilizing intervenous needles. He said information also will be provided on confidential and anonymous testing sites.
Targeted areas will include Hyde Park, Packard Court, East Falls Street from 25th Street to Hyde Park Boulevard and Pine Avenue from 10th Street to Hyde Park.
Santangelo said the volunteers also will pass the word that the alliance, which is located at 469 22nd Street, is a place where questions about any sexually transmitted disease may be answered.
