TRESPASSING CALL NETS MAN WITH ASSAULT RIFLE

Two Buffalo police officers found a little more than they expected Monday evening when they entered an abandoned house to investigate a complaint about men shooting dice.

Upon entering the house at 700 Northumberland Ave., the officers said they found a man hiding behind a couch -- with a fully loaded automatic assault rifle commonly used on the streets for drive-by-shootings.

Officers Michael Bass and Earl Perrin subdued the man without harm.

Brandon Parker of 457 Genesee St. and Darrell Holmes of 31 Sobieski St. were charged with burglary, disorderly conduct and trespassing. Parker was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
