Karen Voorhees has been named the new president of the Olean General Hospital Foundation, which raises and distributes money for patient care, services and building programs.
Most recently the foundation raised nearly $500,000 for the hospital's Marie Lorenz Dialysis Center. The foundation will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
Ms. Voorhees has worked for the hospital for over 20 years and began as a medical technologist. Most recently she served as physician relations coordinator.
She has a medical technology degree from Morrisville Agriculture and Technology College and a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Houghton College.
