Larry Holmes was not quite 24 in 1973 when made his first Madison Square Garden appearance as a preliminary fighter and won a six-round decision over Bob Bozick.
When Holmes returned to the famed arena six years later, he was the WBC champion and the premier heavyweight in the world.
Tonight, Holmes fights in New York for the first time in 18 years -- a 47-year-old grandfather against a 22-year-old opponent in the featured bout at The Theater in the Garden complex.
"I don't know too much about him," Holmes said of Maurice Harris, who has a 9-8-2 record, with five knockouts.
Holmes' fight will be telecast at 9 tonight on USA.
