Frederick D. Berkeley took the first step to relinquish some of the control he's had over Graham Corp. on Monday by handing over his duties as president of the Batavia-based manufacturer to Alvaro Cadena.
Berkeley, 68, will continue to be the top executive at the manufacturer of heat transfer and vacuum equipment as its chairman and chief executive officer.
But Cadena, who now is president and chief operating officer of its U.S. subsidiary in Batavia, will take on the added duties as Graham's president and chief operating officer.
Cadena, 53, will continue to run the U.S. subsidiary, Graham Manufacturing Co. Inc. He also serves on Graham's board of directors.
