CRASH HOSPITALIZES BATAVIA WOMAN

A Batavia woman remained hospitalized Monday in Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw after a three-car crash Sunday on West Lake Road.

A car driven by Richard Robinson of Castile was stopped on West Lake Road, waiting to turn onto Club Road, when a car operated by Christopher Fraser collide with it from behind, Wyoming County sheriff's deputies said.

The impact caused the Fraser car to slide into the northbound lane and into the path of a car driven by Eloise Brown of Batavia, deputies said. While attempting to avoid the collision, Ms. Brown's car went into a ditch and crashed into an earth embankment.

Marie Verney of Batavia, a passenger in the Brown car, was treated for a leg injury in the hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Kara Hoffmeister of Warsaw, a passenger in the Fraser car, was treated for an apparent neck injury in the same hospital, then released, deputies added.

Fraser was charged with failure to reduce speed and moving from a lane unsafely.
