Robert P. Stack, 48, an Army retiree, died Friday (July 25, 1997) in his City of Tonawanda home after apparently suffering a heart attack.
Stack, who graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1967, served in the Army from 1968 to 1992 before retiring as a sergeant first class.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1969 to 1971. He also was assigned to the National Security Agency and was stationed in Korea, Germany, Hawaii, Thailand and Washington, D.C.
He was a member of Tonawandas Post 264, American Legion, and Frontiersmen Post 7545, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in the City of Tonawanda.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly and Tracy, both of the City of Tonawanda; his mother, Marie D. Stacharczyk of North Tonawanda; and four sisters, Patricia Anderson of Cheektowaga, Cheri Painter of Austin, Texas, Carol of East Amherst and Paula Meyers of North Tonawanda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, 71 Adam St., City of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. (rhoads)
