Step dancing, soda bread and bagpipes are on the menu of the fourth annual Lockport Feis Aug. 9 in the Kenan Arena, 433 Locust St.
More than 700 step dancers from throughout the United States and Canada are expected to participate in competitions, culminating in a "Riverdance" competition of dance ensembles in late afternoon. Competitors range in age from 4 to adults.
The event is being sponsored by the the Lockport Feis Committee and Niagara County Council of the Arts. Opening ceremonies are at 9 a.m.
Admission is $5.
Events for children include a craft tent and Irish storytelling and poetry readings.
Seamus Connolly, an engraver of Waterford crystal, will demonstrate Celtic glass-cutting designs.
