One man was killed and 15 people injured by an explosion at a popular fireworks display in northwest Michigan, hospital officials said.
Several people remained hospitalized today after the explosion in this vacation town late Saturday.
A spokeswoman for Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey said a man died early Sunday morning from injuries suffered in the explosion.
Spokeswoman Dixie Cosier said three people were in the hospital in fair condition, while a fourth person was in serious condition. At Charlevoix Area Hospital in Charlevoix, one person was in critical condition and two others were in fair condition, she said.
The explosion occurred at about 11 p.m., near the end of the fireworks display.
