Employees of Adelphia Cable will be walking around the Village of Hamburg, examining existing cable wiring.
It's part of the preparation needed to install cable upgrading. Employees will be "walking, observing and noting the requirements to fulfill all elements of design," Adelphia Coordinator Donald L. March wrote in a letter to Mayor John S. Thomas.
Once the upgrade is complete there will be a significant increase in the channels available to village residents, according to Village Administrator David Fountaine. The upgrade is expected to begin in August, with new service being available in October at the earliest.
"It is important for residents to know that Adelphia employees will be looking at cable facilities in all rights of way and will have proper identification. No access to any house is necessary," Fountaine said.
