PET PROJECT: STRAY NEEDS A HOME

This 8-month-old, rust-colored male wire-haired dachshund is available for adoption from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Rainbow Animal Shelter of the Niagara County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 2100 Lockport Road, Wheatfield. He was a stray and can be adopted for $80, which includes deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations and neutering. An additional fee is required for a license.

The SPCA, 205 Ensminger Road, Town of Tonawanda, also has cats and dogs available for adoption. It is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Southtowns SPCA, 1439 Pontiac Road, Angola, has animals available. Call 549-5300.

The City Animal Shelter, 380 Oak St., Buffalo, has animals that need good homes. It is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Adopt-A-Pet shelters throughout the area have cats and dogs available. Call 879-0311 for information. Second Chance Sheltering Network Inc. has cats and kittens available for adoption. Call 652-9034 or 652-6051.

HEART (Hamburg Eden Animal Rescue Team) has dogs available for adoption by calling 648-1911 and cats by calling 823-8461.
