Police have nailed a man who came at them with a staple gun late Friday.
Willie T. Crittenden, 38, of 725 Cedar Ave. is charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration in connection with the attack at 11:10 p.m. at Hyde Park Boulevard and Virginia Avenue, according to Lt. David H. Legault.
Officers were investigating a report of a man with a gun in the area when Legault said he saw Crittenden approaching him aggressively and heard a bystander shout, "Watch out, he's got a gun."
Legault said he saw Crittenden reach into his pocket and pull out an object with a black handle and a silver body.
After he wrestled Crittenden down to the ground, the object turned out to be a staple gun.
