John E. Thurston, a former Buffalo resident, died Wednesday (July 23, 1997) in the home of his son, William, in St. Louis Park, Minn., where he lived the past two years. He was 83.
A native of Bern, Switzerland, Thurston was supervisor of Emkay Trading Corp. in Blasdell before moving to St. Louis Park. He traveled across the country with his wife after retiring.
His wife, Agnes, died in 1986.
In addition to his son, survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Morris of Chenango Forks; a brother, Ernest Thurkhauf of Ashville, S.C.; and three grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Marathon Cemetery in Marathon.
