James A. Wylde, 58, died Friday (July 25, 1997) in his Buffalo home after a long illness.
For 23 years, Wylde was a barber at Roswell Park Cancer Institute until he retired in 1991. Before that, he was a barber at Buffalo General Hospital.
After retiring, he enjoyed baking, carpentry and spending time with his family. He built cradles for his grandchildren, remodeled the kitchen and built a deck and porch on his home.
He was a medic in the Army Reserve.
Survivors include two sisters, Dolores Schott and Rosemary Vilardo, both of West Seneca; a stepdaughter, Janet Ginnick; three stepsons, Joseph Ilecki of Grand Island, and Richard and David Ilecki; a dear friend, Maryrose Barrett; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Rolling Chapel of the Dengler Funeral Home, 3000 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
