The Oneida Nation's new Hotel at Turning Stone Casino Resort is accepting reservations for any time after Oct. 1. The 220,500-square-foot hotel has 285 rooms, making it the second-largest hotel in Central New York.
The hotel is attached to the casino, which has been expanded as part of the construction project. The highlight of the 22,000-square-foot casino expansion is the creation of a special baccarat room. More table games and Instant Multi-Game Machines also will be added. The casino also is home to Oneida Nation High Stakes Bingo.
The hotel will have four restaurants, ranging from formal dining to a 1950s-theme ice cream parlor. There also will be six new retail shops, a health spa and a video arcade.
More than 300 jobs are being created by the opening of the hotel, according to Pat Bassney, vice president for hotel operations. When the hotel opens, the Oneida Nation will employ 2,800 people, making it the largest private-sector employer in the area. Turning Stone already is among the top five tourism attractions in New York State.
