Ever since Casino Niagara opened in December in Niagara Falls, Ont., people have been going there in droves to try their luck. Traffic on the Rainbow and Whirlpool bridges has increased, and the casino has already attracted 4.5 million patrons. Lines are common on weekends.
The casino's 96,000 square feet of gaming space houses 2,700 slot and video poker machines, as well of 144 table games, including blackjack, baccarat, Let It Ride, Caribbean stud poker, Big Six and pai gow poker. The high stakes Baccarat Room on the third floor has its own lounge with a view of the falls.
The decor has an outdoor theme, with stone pillars, hanging vines, wall murals and cascading waterfalls. Lights and lasers interact on a sky mural on the high dome ceiling to simulate the stages of a day from sunrise to sunset.
There's regular weekend entertainment in Marilyn's Lounge and Bistro. Comedians perform at Yuk Yuk's Komedy Kabaret Thursday through Sunday evenings. Farfalle, the casino's fine dining restaurant, has received four diamonds from AAA.
