Things to do

The Porter Cup concludes today at the Niagara Falls Country Club, with the leaders expected to tee off at about 1 p.m.

The Buffalo Bisons are back from a road trip for a weekend series against the Nashville Sounds in North AmeriCare Park. The teams will play a single game at 6 tonight -- which is Drive-In Movie Night ("Back to the Future" will be shown on a video screen) -- and a doubleheader Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

Fort Erie Race Track will host the Prince of Wales Stakes, a Triple Crown race for Canadian 3-year-old thoroughbreds, on Sunday. First post is 1:10 p.m., with the big race scheduled for about 5. . . . New York Sires Stakes 2-year-old colt pacers headline the 7:30 card tonight at Buffalo Raceway.

The Niagara Predators are home at LaSalle High School for a 7 p.m. game against the Hornell Dragons, co-leaders in the New York Football League. Tickets are $5 but fans who tell the ticket-booth workers they're Predators fans will receive $2 off.

Things to view

The Buffalo Bills open their preseason schedule at the Denver Broncos tonight at 9 on Ch. 7. Among the other games will be the Seattle Seahawks against the Minnesota Vikings today at 2:30 p.m. on Ch. 7 and the Chicago Bears against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at 1 p.m. on Ch. 29. The Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will precede the Seahawks-Vikings game today at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.

The NASCAR Coca-Cola Shootout starts today on TNN at 1 p.m., the same time as the Grand National Gateway 300 on Ch. 4. The CART U.S. 500 will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday on Ch. 7.
