A memorial service for Theodore W. Weigold, 81, of Boise, Idaho, a retired auto mechanic and former resident of West Falls, will be held later this year at the convenience of his family.
Weigold, a native of Buffalo, died of lung cancer July 8, 1997, at the home of his son, Theodore S., in Boise. Relatives said he had been a cigarette smoker most of his adult life.
He spent many of his formative years in East Lovejoy, where his parents, the late Theodore and Helen Weigold, operated a poolroom and lunch counter at the corner of Lovejoy and Ideal streets.
In 1940, he married Susan Galayda, also of East Lovejoy. The couple lived briefly in Cheektowaga, Orchard Park and Springville and eventually settled on Mill Road in West Falls, where they lived for more than 30 years until Mrs. Weigold's death in 1981. He moved to Boise in 1982 to be closer to his children.
Weigold was a mechanic at the former Carrow Chevrolet dealership until his retirement in the late 1970s.
Survivors include his son; a daughter, Linda Torgeson, also of Boise; a sister, June Kreutzer of Orchard Park; and four grandsons.
Weigold's ashes will interred next to the body of his wife in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in West Falls.
