TEEN HELD IN CRASH WITH POLICE CAR

A 15-year-old girl was charged with juvenile delinquency Friday after she allegedly stole a car and later struck a police car with it while an officer was trying to make her pull over, police said.

The girl was taken into custody at 11:44 a.m. at Ohio Street and Paperboard Drive after she drove the car off the roadway onto some grass outside the Buffalo Papperboard Co. and made a right turn into a patrol car, which was traveling alongside of her, police said.

Neither the girl nor Officer Paul Beakman, who was driving the patrol car, was injured.

The girl is accused of driving off with her girlfriend's mother's car after she got into an argument with the girlfriend on Minard Street. When the girlfriend got out of the car and ordered her to get out of the car during the argument, the suspect allegedly jumped into the driver's seat and took off, police said.

The suspect will be prosecuted in Niagara County Family Court, police said.
