ROBERT E. THOMPSON, RETIRED BUS DRIVER

Robert E. Thompson, 72, of Beach Ridge Road, a retired bus driver for the Starpoint Central School District, died Friday (July 25, 1997) in Briody Health Care Facility.

A native of Buffalo, he had been a bus driver for 17 years before his retirement in 1968.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of B. Leo Dolan Post 410, American Legion.

He helped organize the Niagara Frontier Police Pistol League and was a pistol instructor at Bell Aerospace in 1957.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was an accomplished artist in painting and carving.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary Louise; a son, Thomas E.; two daughters, Terry Ann Carbone of Brockport and Rebecca L. Wilson of Lockport; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave., Lockport. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
