MAN NOT GUILTY OF ENDANGERMENT

Daniel Cannon of Wohlers Avenue was found innocent by Chief City Court Judge Thomas J. Amodeo of endangering the welfare of a child and trespassing following a two-day trial that ended Thursday.

Cannon, 61, had been accused on May 15 of grabbing an 8-year-old girl and kissing her and trespassing on the grounds of School 53 on Roehrer Avenue. Police alleged he had been hiding behind a dumpster before he approached the child.

During the non-jury trial, his attorney, James P. Davis, maintained that two young children who supposedly witnessed the incident, misreported what they had seen. At least four witnesses testified to his good character.
