BOULDER POLICE NEARING END OF JONBENET SLAYING PROBE

Police have nearly finished investigating JonBenet Ramsey's slaying and could present their findings to the district attorney by late August or early September, the Rocky Mountain News reported Friday.

Authorities in Boulder were not available to comment on the report.

No one has been arrested and no suspects have been named in the 7-month-long murder investigation of the 6-year-old beauty pageant winner.

When the findings are presented to Boulder County DA Alex Hunter, he could charge someone, turn the matter over to a grand jury, seek more information or reject the case as unsuitable for prosecution.

John Ramsey, father of the young victim, plans to take out advertisements in local newspapers Sunday to publicize a possible profile of the killer developed by his own team of experts.

He has expressed disappointment that police have focused on the Ramsey family in their investigation, according to a statement he issued earlier this week.
