Dunkirk police believe they have solved a rash of car thefts in the area with the arrest of four teens. Officers credited neighborhood tipsters for helping their investigations.
Charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, both felonies, are Francisco Dominguez, 18, who is held in the Erie County Holding Center.
Also arrested was James A. Keleman, 19, of 55 Lake Shore Drive East. Two juveniles were petitioned to Family Court.
Dominguez is believed responsible for the theft of several vehicles from Dunkirk and in Erie County. Keleman is accused in 23 vehicle break-ins in the city within the past two months. The juveniles were believed responsible for several vehicle break-ins in downtown parking lots and two car thefts.
