Niagara County Legislator Dennis F. Virtuoso, D-Niagara Falls, has announced his candidacy for re-election to his 4th District seat.
Virtuoso, seeking his fourth two-year term, is a city building inspector. He pointed to a successful effort to obtain $20,000 in county funding for block clubs in Niagara Falls as one of his prime achievements during the current term.
He said he plans to campaign on the issues of increasing shared services among local governments, and better defining the policies and programs of the Niagara County
Industrial Development Agency.
Virtuoso served three years as leader of the Legislature's Democratic majority, and was chairman of the Ad Hoc Jail Committee which oversaw the $25 million expansion project at the County Jail.
A lifelong city resident and father of three, Virtuoso currently serves as chairman of the Health Services Committee.
