LOCKPORT WOMAN ACCUSED OF STEALING $20,310

A Washburn Street woman was arrested Thursday for stealing $20,310 from a relative, Detective Capt. Neil Merritt said.

Annette C. Hughes, 28, of 145 Washburn, was charged with third-degree grand larceny. The arrest came following an investigation into the withdrawal of the money from one of her relative's passbook accounts at the Lockport Savings Bank from 1995 through the spring of this year, Merritt said.

Ms. Hughes did not have permission to withdraw the money from those accounts, Merritt said. He declined to name the relative.
