Frank Garcia Jr. of Cataract Golf Club had a five-stroke lead after two rounds of the Junior/Sub-junior Stroke Play Championships at the Country Club of Buffalo.

Garcia shot a 78 on the par-72 course to give him a two-round total of 151 in the Juniors category (15-18). Andy Neumann of Shelridge Country Club was in second with 156, while Randy Eich of Elma Meadows Golf Club was six strokes off the lead with a 157.

In sub-juniors (10-14), Jay Lindell of Chautauqua Golf Club was tied for the medalist spot with Cazenovia Golf Club's Andy Coggins at 156. Both golfers shot a 76 in the second round, following 80s after round one. Brian Pavlock of Elkdale CC was one shot off the lead at 157.

The final round will be held Thursday at the Country Club of Buffalo.

At Gowanda Country Club, defending champion Christy Rittenhouse of Caledonia CC made it two in a row as she defeated Stephanie Reeves of The Edison Club, 3 and 2, in the final of the NYSGA Junior Girls Championship.
