TRIPNTROT, 'TWENTY DOLLAR' TAKE SIRE DIVISIONS

Jonny Tripntrot, a Saratoga invader, took advantage of a break by Prowler in deep stretch to score a come-from-behind victory in a $47,000 New York Sire Stake trotting event at Buffalo Raceway.

Jeff Gregory's Prowler took command early and triggered quarter marks of :31 3/5 , 1:02 1/5 and 1:34 1/5 and seemed poised to wire the second division field. Midway through the stretch, though, Prowler went offstride and driver Mark Whitcroft eased his charge, Jonny Tripntrot, past the breaking trotter en route to the winner's circle, covering the mile in 2:04 4/5 and returning $13.20.

In the first division, Gregory guided Twenty Dollar Man to a wire-to-wire triumph in 2:05 2/5 . The El Paso Kash colt is 2 for 2 this year and has an impressive bankroll of over $40,000.
