Washington Middle School has a new assistant principal.
Daniel R. Bracey was appointed to that position by the Jamestown Board of Education Tuesday night, replacing Ted Pasquale, who is on paid administrative leave over alleged improprieties. Bracey has been a counselor in the Warren County, Pa., school district.
Superintendent Craig King said Bracey's appointment is permanent, subject to the usual probationary period, and Pasquale's status will be determined in the future.
The board also approved a tentative four-year contract with its five educational coordinators. The agreement still needs approval from the bargaining unit. No details were released.
The School Board will hold a public meeting next Thursday night at Washington Middle School on a new proposed alternative education plan for suspended students.
"When students are suspended, we need to deal with the behavior that led to the suspension and also prepare them to enter back into the district in a fashion whereby they are prepared to learn and the problems are behind them," King said.
The plan is based on a working model in Erie, Pa.
