OLCOTT BOY BITTEN BY PIT BULL

OLCOTT -- Mark Rohring, 10, of West Main Street was injured Tuesday when he was bitten on the foot by a pit bull terrier his sister was taking for a walk, Sheriff's Deputy Joseph Flagler said.

Mark was riding his bicycle and approached his 15-year-old sister, Heather, who was walking a neighbor's dog at 4:08 p.m. on West Main, when the dog bit him in the right foot, Flagler said.

Community Memorial Hospital.

Accord reached on tax cut proposal
WASHINGTON -- Accord on a $135 billion tax cut proposal, including eliminating capital gains taxes on inflation-caused profits -- opposed by the Clinton administration -- was reached by House and Senate GOP leaders Tuesday.

But the Republican leadership did agree to move toward the administration with its proposal on education tax incentives for college students and others, including a $1,500 tuition credit, sources said.

Samantha's mother rejects immunity
