Mary Alyce Mingo, a longtime Buffalo resident and former employee of Millard Fillmore Hospital, died Sunday (July 20, 1997) in Deaconess Center after a long illness.
The former Mary Alyce Wilson was born in Liberty, S.C., and came to Buffalo in 1954. She worked at the hospital as a nurse's aide in 1959 and 1960.
Mrs. Mingo raised 11 children in her East Side home and was active in church life as a United Methodist.
Surviving are her husband, Wylie; seven sons, Charles, Kenneth, Gregory, Lamont, Michael, Anthony and Eric; four daughters, Jeanette Cummings, Renee Nevilles, Mary E. and Kim Lewis; two sisters, Rena Mitchell and Flossie Wilson, both of Brooklyn; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Wake services were held today in Memorial Chapels of Buffalo, followed by the funeral. Burial was in Forest Lawn.
