Marie Nott Peglar, 90, a homemaker and resident of Westfield for most of her life, died Monday (July 21, 1997) in Westfield Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Peglar, who was born in the Village of Westfield, graduated in 1923 from Westfield Academy. She and her first husband, Dennis E. McGee, who died in 1951, operated McGee's Food Shop on Hertel Avenue at Sterling Avenue in Buffalo. Her second husband, Robert Peglar, died in 1980.

Mrs. Peglar was active as a volunteer in the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a "Gray Lady" at the hospital for 25 years. A seamstress, she served as a volunteer in the hospital's mending room. She also was a Westfield Bloodmobile volunteer with the American Red Cross for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Peterson of Westfield and Ellen C. Milliron of Buffalo; two stepsons, William Peglar of Hot Springs, Ark., and Richard Peglar of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and 22 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. James Major Catholic Church, 15 Union St. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
