The Town Board has allocated $300,000 for a new pre-engineered highway storage building after
receiving bids from six firms.
The board allocated $300,000 for the project in a 5-0 vote, to cover a base bid of $218,944 and a contingency amount of $12,839. The remaining $68,217 could be used for some alternatives to the building that the company suggested, such as gutters and downspouts for $6,712, removing and replacing the gutters and downspouts on the old highway building for $8,451, or connecting the two buildings with a breezeway for $32,846.
In addition, Frontier Metal Buildings Inc. of Niagara Falls, the firm chosen by the Town Board to construct the building, also suggested replacing office windows for $5,353, a new roof on the existing building for $25,326, sidewalls on the existing building for $9,138, insulating the new building's roof for $12,237, or putting fiberglass insulation in the walls of the new building for $6,353.
