Gaetano J. DiGioia, 82, a former Buffalo resident, died Saturday (July 19, 1997) in his home in Sarasota, Fla., after a brief illness.
Born in Wood, Pa., he moved to Buffalo at a young age and lived here until he moved to Sarasota in 1975.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a boiler engineer for E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, the former LaVerne E. Lipps of Sarasota; a son, Charles D. of Cheektowaga; a sister, Phyllis Tremontana; a brother, Peter; and two grandchildren.
Services and burial were in Sarasota.
