The chairman of the Strategic Planning and Partnerships Commission is urging the City Council to approve funding for a facilitator to work on a shared services agreement between the City of Jamestown and Chautauqua County.
Each level of government would pay $10,000 for the facilitator.
Commission Chairman Michael Lyons said: "There is more than enough on the agenda for (the commission) to accomplish. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for the citizens of our community to see some results from the government."
Finance Committee Chairman Andrew Johnson called it "a sad state of affairs when the city and county need a facilitator to help work out their problems."
