ALDEN BROKER CHARGED WITH FRAUD

An insurance broker from Alden is one of nine people across the state arrested and charged with insurance fraud in the last month, state Superintendent of Insurance Neil D. Levin said Tuesday.

Robert W. Swanson, 48, of Kellogg Street in Alden, was arrested June 24 and pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny. Swanson acknowledged that he collected about $4,800 in premiums and failed to forward them to the appropriate insurer. He will be sentenced Aug. 8.
