POLICE TIE SHOOTING TO MONEY DISPUTE

An apparent dispute over money likely triggered Friday night's double shooting outside an East Second Street bar, Jamestown police said Monday.

Jamestown Police Detective Capt. Randall Present said the two victims, Paulino Rodriguez Jr. of 406 W. Seventh St. and David Martinelli of 34 Buffalo St., went looking for someone to "get back some money or property." They were shot on the concrete stoop in front of The Dash Inn about 11:30 p.m.

Felony arrest warrants were issued Monday for Daniel L. Pratt, 23, whose address is unknown. He is wanted for two counts each of second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.

While the investigation is concentrated in the Jamestown area, Present said his department also received information that Pratt, who is considered armed and dangerous, may have headed for Houston.

Present said Rodriguez and Martinelli, both in their 20s, may have been shot twice.

"One of them suffered two wounds from a handgun to his lower back and buttocks. The other was shot either once in the stomach, which either exited into his right arm, or possibly twice. We have not been able to determine that," Present said.

Martinelli remains in satisfactory condition at WCA Hospital. Rodriguez was treated at WCA over the weekend and discharged.
