MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT IN STABBING OF 16-YEAR-OLD

A 16-year-old Mills Street youth was stabbed early today in the shoulder and ankle with a commando knife adorned with metal knuckles, Genesee Station police said.

Tarrell O. Braswell suffered a 10-inch-long laceration to his left shoulder and a smaller cut on his ankle in the 12:55 a.m. attack. He was treated in Children's Hospital and released late this morning.

Officers Thomas Dolan and Brendan Kiefer charged Waymon Brown, 36, of Sobieski Street, with first-degree assault and weapons possession.

Brown told police he stabbed the youth in retaliation for an earlier burglary at his home. Police, however, found no evidence of any previous incident or calls at the Sobieski Street address.
