The Lancaster Central School Board Monday night awarded $13.5 million in contracts for construction of a new fifth- and sixth-grade
Concept Construction was awarded a $9 million general construction contract; Quackenbush Co. was awarded a $1.5 million heating and ventilation contract; John W. Danforth Co. was awarded a $965,000 plumbing and fire protection contract; and Frey Co. was awarded a $1.7 million electrical contract.
A $318,965 contract for temperature control work was awarded to Building Controls & Services.
The new school is being built at William Street and Siebert Road at a total cost of $16.3 million. Site work required before construction can begin was recently completed, and the school is expected to be finished by September 1988.
The school will serve 829 fifth- and sixth-graders. The project is being funded through a $33.2 million bond issue approved last year.
