Jean B. Carroll, 81, a former Buffalo-area resident, died Sunday (July 20, 1997) in her York, Pa., home.
The former Jean Bradley was born in Muskegon, Mich., and was a graduate of Washington Seminary, Atlanta. She came to the Buffalo area in 1940 after her marriage to Kenneth F. Carroll, an engineer for Linde Division of Union Carbide Corp.
A past president of the Junior Board at Millard Fillmore Hospital, she moved from Snyder to York in 1961. Later, she and her husband lived in Florida for 10 years before returning to York.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in York and the Historical Society of York County. She was a former treasurer of Planned Parenthood of York. She also was a member of the Vestry Memorial and Healing Mission of St. Boniface Episcopal Church, Sarasota, Fla.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Kenneth Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; four daughters, the Rev. Sheila Cooprider of Clinton Township, Mich., the Rev. Kathryn Mathewson of Alton, Ill., Ann Dailey of Pottstown, Pa., and Patricia Bankenstein of Seven Valleys, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 140 N. Beaver St., York. Private burial will be in St. Boniface Episcopal Church Cemetery, Siesta Key, Fla. (anderson)
